Merwestaal takes Energieplein Dordrecht with steel masts to the next level

September 2017

Not far from our location Moerdijk, you will find the city Dordrecht. A city with a rich industrial history. East of the city center old cranes, wood and coal were part of the common street image in the early days. Today there is a beautiful reference to the past: the Energy Square (Energieplein) in Dordrecht. In addition to rubber hills and concrete stacks, there are no less than 8 steel masts on the square, which are cut by Merwestaal!

The new cultural hotspot in Dordrecht is part of the Stadwerven project. In cooperation with LANDLAB, the municipality of Dordrecht has designed the Energy Square. It is also called a square in a square. Surrounded by the new cinema, the theater Energiehuis and the regional office, the cultural center is a vibrant centerpiece. The 8 industrial masts, equipped with dynamic lighting, mark the Energy Square where various play directions have been created.
